Mission The mission of Imagine Discovery Public Charter School is to provide students with a world-class learning opportunity by maintaining a caring learning environment; working with parents and local communities to develop the intellect and character of the students who choose to attend the school; utilizing innovative teaching techniques delivered by a superior faculty; and offering a challenging curriculum that prepares children for lives of leadership in a rapidly changing world.
Vision The vision for Imagine Discovery Public Charter School (IDPCS) is to develop the intellect and character of our students through the combined efforts of our superior faculty, parents and community. We utilize innovative techniques and a challenging curriculum to produce world class future leaders.
Educational Programs
This academic program has three main components:  We believe this program will provide our children with a very strong foundation for future learning and guide our creation of a joy-filled learning environment. The Core Knowledge Sequence will specify the majority of the content to be taught in the academic subjects. We will utilize the Imagine Schools Standards-Based Curriculum, which we have aligned with the Maryland Voluntary State Curriculum, to specify the skills students will learn and suggest how teachers can help children to master them. The Imagine Schools’ Curriculum also includes both specific suggestions for teaching each standard, as well as codified instructional best practices. Imagine Schools instructional experts and network of other educators successfully implementing the curriculum add experiential wisdom and real-time problem solving help to the best practice documents. To implement our curriculum, Discovery will hire a teaching staff and instructional leader whose passion for learning and excellence will allow them to achieve a level of mastery required to create a challenging and enriching classroom and school environment.   |
